One of the worlds most successful and powerful business leader, Sir Richard Branson, was one of the first global icons to be interviewed on the debut series MTV Base MEETS with MTN, which was broadcast on (DStv Channel 322).
As part of the show, the pioneer of Virgin was put in the hot seat and faced by an African youth panel, allowing them to interview the business leader about his journey of embarking on his business venture and his recent project from the Branson Centre Entrepreneurship in Johnnesbury, South Africa.
Speaking at a press conference held in Lagos, the senior Vice-President and Managing Director, Alex Okosi, explained that the MTV Base MEETS with MTN programme is a youth empowerment multimedia campaign seeking to connect African youth with business, political and cultural leaders around the world in the hope of inspiring young Africans to become future leaders in shaping the continent.
Mr Okosi added: “We hope that MTV Base MEETS with MTN will inspire young people across Africa to know that their voice matters and help prepare them to take their own roles among the leaders of tomorrow.”
There was guest appearances from many African leaders such as the African Head of State, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (President, Liberia), Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, and South African politician, Julius Malema.
We hope to see more of these kinds of projects all over Africa.
