Last month, singer and fashion designer Rihanna delivered a spectacular, diverse, and unapologetically inclusive fashion show at New York Fashion Week, showcasing her lingerie line, Savage X Fenty. The runway featured an impressive lineup of stars including Cara Delevingne, 21 Savage, Normani, Paloma Elsesser, Christian Combs (P. Diddy’s son), and many more.

Fashion critics have praised the show as revolutionary for its celebration of models of all races, shapes, sizes, and abilities — a bold contrast to brands like Victoria’s Secret, which have long been criticised for their lack of inclusivity.

Rihanna launched Savage X Fenty in 2017, complementing the success of her Fenty Beauty line, which made headlines for offering over 40 foundation shades — a game‑changer for women of colour. Her lingerie range is available on Amazon, making it accessible to a global audience.

Speaking to The New York Times Style Magazine, Rihanna said, “In my own household, my father is half Black, half white. My mom is Black from South America. I was seeing diversity — that’s all I knew.”

Rihanna’s own curvaceous beauty, combined with the energy and inclusivity of her runway production, stands as a powerful example of AfroGlobal excellence at its best
