Laillah-Crystal Banda, 37 sadly passed away on Valentines Day. She was a very creative, beautiful, warm and amazingly diligent person whose career only went from strength to strength. Laillah-Crystal was known fondly by her family and friends as Crystal. Crystal was involved in Plus Size Fashion Ghana, which is a project led by Joey Kwakofi who is the Creative Director for the project. It is a project which celebrates curvy beautiful women having self love. The project had 6 curvy women in the team to help encourage fashion designers to design more styles of clothes to cater for plus size women. Sadly Crystal died a few days before the project was due to start.
Shika Geo-Glavee, who is the fashion designer and Creator of Shik Collection has honoured Crystal’s memory by calling one of her plus size collections ‘Crystal’. Shika is one of the designers working for the Plus Size Fashion Ghana Project. This honour is amazing and very fitting to Crystal’s memory, as her collection of African designs are simply elegant and beautiful just like Crystal.
Crystal who was the Health Editor at Your Magazine contributed in a really positive way. She achieved so much in her life time. Crystal worked for Cancer research and her biomedicine background really helped her to learn more about patients illnesses and helped to make their quality of life a lot better. Crystal worked as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of EIB Network. As well as the General Manager and PR Manager for Bola Ray’s Empire Entertainment and the Founder and CEO of ‘Ride On. ‘
Crystal’s death is a big loss to us but her memory and vibrancy will continually live on, through her work and through many people who knew and loved her. Rest in perfect peace Crystal and thank you for being such an inspiration.
