Nigerian Billionaire Aliko Dangote, is currently the richest man in Africa and the 67th richest man in the world, ranked by Forbes Magazine. The oil tycoon owns Dangote Group, which has interests in commodities and operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, Zambia and other African countries.
This time last year, Dangote’s net worth was reported to be approximately US$14.9 billion, and his organisation has since received a whopping $997,4 million in training grants from the US for his Oil Refining Company. The grant will fund the training of more than 100 staff on refinery-related fundamentals, as part of a US advocacy campaign. This program aims to increase Nigeria’s domestic oil refining capacity, and continues the USTDA’s legacy of supporting vital infrastructure development in the country.
Dangote, who recently expressed an interest to invest in UK football team Arsenal FC, has four children and plays an active role in Nigerian politics.
