Stunning, flawless, and effortlessly elegant — those were the first words that came to mind when I saw Menaye, even before her hair and make‑up were done. She looked radiant, and not even the slight nervousness on her face as I wrestled with the heavy warehouse elevator gate could dim her natural beauty. I reassured her we’d be fine, and up we went to the studio.

The day didn’t unfold exactly as planned. I had envisioned a smooth schedule: photo shoot first, lunch next, then the interview. Instead, we ended up doing the complete opposite — and honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We were having far too much fun to stick to a rigid plan, so lunch was ordered in and the laughter continued.

The “interview” quickly turned into a warm, girly chat between me, Menaye, Ayo (our talented make‑up artist), and Katie, her PR assistant. The conversation flowed effortlessly — fashion, family, cooking, romance and, of course, the universal language of women everywhere… SHOES.

And let me tell you, having a husband who buys all your shoes is not a bad deal at all. From what we saw, Sulley Muntari has impeccable taste. Naturally, I had to tell Menaye about our “shoes‑only” charity shop in Westfield, Stratford (LOL!). She gave a polite, slightly doubtful laugh — but it’s true, Menaye!

Once Ayo finished her magic, Menaye slipped into a pair of 6‑inch designer heels gifted by her husband and stepped into a breathtaking dress by Nonterah — one of Africa’s most creative designers. We had flown the dress in from Africa that very morning, exclusively for the shoot.

Standing next to her, I felt completely unglamorous and incredibly short. And I wasn’t alone — the 5’11” model and former beauty queen towered over all of us in her Gucci heels. Only Ben Achana, who directed the shoot, came close to looking average height beside this exotic beauty.

Before we officially began the interview, Menaye shared how she regularly cooks traditional African dishes without allowing the rich aromas to overwhelm her pristine all‑white home in Milan. Her tricks? Burning candles, boiling vinegar, and — in her words — simply keeping your “house clean.” She spoke openly and warmly about her marriage to Inter Milan’s central midfielder, Sulley Muntari, offering glimpses into a life built on love, culture, and partnership.

What became clear that day is that there is so much more to Menaye than the “WAG” label she is often given. She is intelligent, grounded, stylish, and full of depth — qualities I explore further in the Trinity Edition of Your Magazine
