According to the World Happiness Report, by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the United Nations, Algeria is the happiest country in Africa.

The factors that contribute to the happiness of the Algerian people and were among the six factors measured to establish a global ranking of the happiest countries include social support, healthy life expectancy and GDP per capita. The other three factors were freedom to make life choices, generosity and perceptions of corruption.

There are five African countries among the top one hundred happiest countries in the world and the top ten happiest African Countries are;

Nigeria
Zambia
Namibia
Ethiopia
South Africa
